Should you go Gluten Free?

“Gluten free” seems to become somewhat of a trendy term these days. Everywhere you look there are “gluten free” pastas, breads, cookies, cakes, pancake mix…the list goes on! Do you know that even meats, cheeses, eggs and beverages are now wearing the “gluten free label” when they are naturally “gluten free” foods? So should you go gluten free?

Is there a benefit to going gluten free?

AND, if there is, should YOU jump on the gluten free bandwagon?

What is Gluten Exactly?

Gluten is the protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. It can be found in many processed foods and is the protein that gives breads its “chewy” texture.

The Unprocessed Food Diet

Should you go gluten free with natalie jill

What many people don’t know is that any natural unprocessed food in its original state (i.e., fruit, veggies, nuts, and meat, if you’re not adding anything to it) is gluten free by nature. I like to think of it like this: Anything that once grew or had a mom is naturally gluten free.

If you haven’t been diagnosed with celiac disease, I think the real question you should be asking yourself is, “Should I be on an unprocessed food diet?” My answer is yes 🙂 An unprocessed food diet is better for everyone.
