21 Aug Best Ab and Core Workout Using a Stability Ball for Perfect Abs – Video
Have you used the stability ball for a great ab and core workout?
Everyone wants a strong core and six pack abs!! But, have you ever worked your abs using a stability ball? Just grab some water, a mat and stability ball and we’re ready to go. Watch the core workout video below and….Let’s do this!
Exercise #1 – The Pike
Small disclaimer: If you’re a newbie to the stability ball, getting into the pike position is a workout in itself.
Place your hands on the floor in push-up plank position, with your shins resting on the stability ball. Lift your hips up, while rolling up onto your toes into a pike position. You will probably feel this in your shoulders, arms and legs, but you should mostly be feeling it in your abs!
Exercise #2 – Simply Abs
You can roll right into this exercise from the previous one. Keep those shins balanced on the ball, tuck the ball in toward your stomach and push back out. Your toes will touch your bottom.
Exercise #3 – Knee Tuck
This can be done one of two ways; you can balance your forearms on the ball and hold in plank position or if you’re more advanced, you can get in push up plank position on the floor, using less of your shins on the ball and more of your feet. Then SQUEEZE and HOLD.
Exercise #4 – The Roll Out
Take it down to the floor, sitting up on your knees. Place those forearms on the ball and roll it out and back in. Be careful not to let that back by keeping your abs pulled in toward your spine.
Exercise #5 – The Plank Knee to Elbow
This last exercise is a little bit tougher, but you can do it!!! Place the stability ball against a wall. Place your forearms on the ball in a modified plank position and take that kneed to your opposite elbow and alternate. Your kneed won’t really touch your elbow, but that’s the direction you want to point your knee to.
Remember, you don’t have to do a lot of these!!! It just takes intense training and creating a calorie deficit as to what you’re burning in a day vs. what you’re eating in a day. That combination is going to help you visibly see your abs!
I hope you enjoyed this ab and core workout!
