DIY Sriracha Hot Sauce
I love to add a little spice to some of my meals. Today I am sharing with you a DIY Sriracha recipe that is easy and yummy!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs red jalalpeños, stems taken off
6 cloves garlic, peeled
4 tablespoons palm sugar
1 tablespoon Kosher salt
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
Directions:
Place jalalpeños, garlic, palm sugar, and salt in blender or a food processor. Pulse until chilies are very finely chopped, stop to scrape sides as necessary. Transfer mixture to a clean jar, cover, and let sit in a cool dark place.
Let it sit for 5 days, check the jar each day for fermentation. Stir contents each day, continuing to let ferment.
Transfer chilies to a blender, add in white vinegar, and puree until completely smooth. Transfer to a mesh strainer set atop of a medium saucepan. Strain mixture into saucepan, push through as much pulp as possible, leaving behind seeds and large pieces only in strainer.
Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until sauce is reduced to desired thickness, 5 to 10 minutes. Transfer to an airtight container and store in refridgerator. Will keep for up to 6 months.
