07 Apr How To Do A Plank – VIDEO
How to do a plank (correctly!)
When you do a plank correctly it should NOT hurt your lower back
Here is the correct way to do a plank…
Start out on your forearms and toes. Keep everything tight, hold that stomach in, and squeeze your glutes.
Many people have that natural C-Curve in their back so you’re really going to want to make sure your pelvis is tucked in and your lower back is flat. DO NOT arch your back. It may “look” more flattering to arch your back but that is the incorrect way to do these.
Bring it to your hands!
Next try to move from your forearms to your hands and hold it there. Aim for one minute today of a plank and then aim to hold for LONGER! Next try a variation move like a side plank.
A plank is the #1 exercise to help develop your core! The core is the whole center of everything; it is the foundation of your body and what holds everything together. A strong impacts everything you do!
