Yoga for Beginners – Part III with Kim Bauman
My yoga mentor and friend, Kim Bauman is back!!! She is here to help put to rest any of those myth’s about yoga or get rid of those fears and excuses (no time, it’s boring, your mind wanders, it’s so quiet, it’s basically stretching, you prefer cardio).
If you have seen me talk about yoga before or watched any of my videos, you know that I was NOT a fan of yoga, initially. I thought it was a complete waste of time, I could not focus for one minute, let alone an HOUR, while doing yoga. My mind is just constantly on overload. After viewing this video that demonstrates a series of postures that are linked together in a special way designed to strengthen and give flexibility to the body and flow together. You may even begin to like yoga like I did!
People initially have resistance because they haven’t even tried it and they are probably intimidated or insecure that they won’t do it right. But the fact of the matter is, there are so many benefits to doing yoga, besides the fact that it makes you feel good in your mind AND body. And I’m not talking just the physical sense, but you feel more balance and much more calm in the mind. There is a sense of centeredness, where you work inside yourself vs outside and really connecting to who you are as a person. One just has to find what is right for them, whether it’s one on one, watching a DVD or video or taking a group class.
